Syrians start preparing for Ramadan about one week before its arrival. In the meantime, people are busy preparing. In the old markets of Damascus and Aleppo you can find many ropes of lights with magnificent shapes, lanterns and stars too, in addition to the Ramadan Crescent, which mediate the roads and streets.
