It can be painful to see someone you love going down the wrong path. It can be worse to realize that all your efforts in saving them aren’t working. There are also times when you may lose yourself in that process and in the feelings of guilt that come with it. But it can be comforting to realize that this is not a new feeling: the Prophet (s) and every Companion had someone they wished they could save but were unable to. This is how they dealt with it.
