The story follows a young man named Ibn Batutta, who always dreamed of being an explorer, despite his Father's disapproval, Ibn Batutta sets out on his great journey to explore the region outside his hometown.

Ibn Battuta sets off on his journey, he first goes to Tlemcen to meet his Father's friend, who is a judge and has power and resources in Tlemcen, and states why he is there and what he needs on his travels. The judge suggests he take three companions with him to ensure a safe journey.
